SWH Community Newsletter

The South Woodland Hills Newsletter is published four times a year in March, June, September, and December. Between issues, information of potential interest to our residents is placed on our website. December 2011 - Happy Holidays! This month's newsletter features information on the 2012 assessments, dead trees near electric lines, pedestrian crosswalks, myths and truths about social security and community events. Read the full newsletter HERE.

September 2011 - This month's newsletter features the Board of Directors election. Property owners are encouraged to submit their proxy ballots to elect directors to fill three positions. Other features include leaving tree care to a professional, bicycle rules for motorists and bicyclists, paying your assessments, The Village Gardener, community events and National Night Out 2011. Houston celebrates National Night Out on Tuesday, October 4 The Houston Police Department encourages people get together that evening, at the neighborhood or block levels, to get acquainted and to discuss crime prevention. June 2011 - The June newsletter includes information on disposing of burned out compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), Kingwood's severe drought conditions results in extreme fire danger, SWH Community Assoc. needs interested people to help serve on the Board, "sprucing" up our neighborhood, The Village Gardener, Kingwood Parks, energy tips on summer cooling and community events. March 2011 - The Kingwood Batteries, Oil, Paint and Antifreeze event will be held at the Kingwood Metro Park and Ride lot on Saturday, March 26 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. SWH Village residents contract with Waste Management to provide trash removal. We all look forward to "Spring Cleaning" in our yards and to help with the removal of yard debris. The KSA Parks Committee has begun implementing its program to have all vehicles in River Grove Park not displaying a new K sticker towed at the drivers or owners expense. As part of the City of Houston we all can take part in protecting our neighborhood. Residents are encouraged to contact 3-1-1 to obtain or report services to our neighborhood. December 2010 - The Board of Directors of the South Woodland Hills Village Community Association wishes all of our friends and neighbors in South Woodland Hills a happy holiday season and a prosperous 2011. The December newsletter includes information from the Kingwood Town Hall meeting held on Nov. 30, 2010, the 2011 Community Association assessment, Kingwood area construction projects, new "K" stickers, recognizing villiage residents and community events.

September 2010 - The September 2010 newsletter includes information on the Board of Directors election. SWH property owners are encouraged to vote and attend the annual meeting on September 20 at 7:00pm in the SWH Community Room. Driveway improvements must be approved. See the Ammendment to Architectural Guidelines of South Woodland Hills Village Community Association. New "K" stickers replace old "K" stickers. Leave "tree care" to a professional. Neighborhood Night Out is Saturday, October 2, 9am-3pm in Town Center. The Village Gardener tips and Community Events are included.
