Report to South Woodland Hills Village Community Association
Board of Directors Meeting
November 14, 2011

Since we did not have a quorum, an official meeting could not be held, and no motions could
be acted upon.
Texas HeatWave Soccer and Girls Softball were represented. Soccer participation is reportedly increasing. The softball season has ended, and Girls Softball is concerned about
vandalism due to the resultant inactivity on their fields.
At its October meeting, the Committee also approved asking an arborist – Chris Peterson – to study the Kingwood Drive entry, and provide us with a report telling us which trees are native and can be saved with a reasonable amount of care and which trees to forget. Mr. Peterson's report was distributed at the meeting. Generally, he found poor soil that limits plant growth, lack of mulch, exposed roots, and heavy grass/weed competition over the tree root ball and lack of drip irrigation as problems. The bald cypress plantings are easily salvageable. Improved soil conditions by mixing in organic material, replacing dead trees with appropriate
species, and installing drip irrigation should provide desired results.
Respectfully submitted
