JANUARY 2012 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT
TO THE SOUTH WOODLAND HILLS VILLAGE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
The KSA Public Safety Committee met at the South Woodland Hills Community Room on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. The crime report for the month of December 2011 is as follows::

John Adams, a CPR instructor, is available to provide CPR instruction to Kingwood residents. If SWHVCA is interested in sponsoring such instruction on a Saturday, please advise this reporter, who will work with KSA Public Safety to arrange such an event. There are two versions of the classes. The family and friends version (1 hour) demonstrates the CPR process. Attendees are not certified. The heart saver instruction (2 hours) includes a test at the end of the class. Attendees are certified.
Captain Joe Lampignano, the new Kingwood Division Commander, was introduced. He has 29 years of experience with the Houston Police Department. Also introduced was Lieutenant Parris Ponton, a Kingwood resident, who heads the Tactical Unit.
A committee member noted that there is a traffic problem on North park Drive when St Martha's Church services are over. Off-duty police officers direct traffic as some 600 vehicles leave the church property at Hidden Pines Drive, holding up traffic on North Park Drive. New signage will be installed due to problems with motorists making improper left turns onto east bound North Park Drive.
A BOPA event will be held in Kingwood in February, the date to be determined.
The 2012 Kleenwood Day will be January 28. A poster with details will be provided the SWHVCA Board when available.
Marshall Settegast was reelected chair and Denise Krieger was reelected vice chair.
